Hotel Quinta do Furao in Madeira

About three years ago I heard Artemy Lebedev answering a question along the lines of “Artemy, you have traveled all over the world, all the states of America and all the regions of Russia! Can you advise where to go on a super cool trip?” He recommended Madeira. And I was like: Hmmm… it’s near the Canaries, Europe, in principle, not too far away! Got hooked on YouTube for a long time and, of course, wanted to be there one day. Went to booking, entered my filters and immediately noticed Quinta do Furao hotel. It seemed like a corner of paradise on the edge of a cliff above the ocean, with a gorgeous view, the highest ratings, a touch of luxury of an old Portuguese mansion, but at the same time modern and well maintained.
By the way, in Portugal if you do not know what hotel to choose, feel free to take the hotel, the name of which begins with “Quinta”. There are a lot of them all over the country. This means you’ll be expecting the Portuguese version of a farmer’s chic mansion/palazzo/villa/chateau?. Take it with high scores and no matter how many stars. Satisfaction guaranteed!
So recently we made it to Madeira. Naturally, I booked a room there by hook or by crook. I had to change itineraries and rearrange my plans, but we ended up staying there. Spoiler for planners: Accommodation with breakfast cost 90 euros per night for two. Yes, I’m not afraid to sometimes reveal the cost of something, so that there was an understanding of how much it costs abroad.
The hotel has exceeded all expectations on the location, and hospitality, and food. The hotel has a restaurant where people gather from all around. The food there is so good?! I don’t understand why it’s not in the Michelin guide. I think it’s just a misunderstanding! We usually eat at different places on trips to learn new things, but this place was so enjoyable to spend the evenings here that we visited twice. This hotel is hi-recommended for a stopover if you are wheeling around Madeira. “No car” tourists are recommended to stay only in Funchal (capital), and from there take tours to different parts of the island.Guys, throw in the comments recommendations of your favorite hotels, where everything is super-duper!
